  The CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards and Quality (CROSQ) was created by the Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) as an Inter-Governmental Organisation. The mandate of CROSQ is to harmonise and implement standards, to facilitate international competitiveness, and to increase regional and international trade; for the sustainable production of goods and services in the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), and the enhancement of social and economic development.

The promotion and development of standards and standards related activities to facilitate international competitiveness and the sustainable production of goods and services within the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) for the enhancement of social and economic development.

 
   
 


The Caribbean Knowledge and Learning Network
Members of the Governance Council of the Caribbean Knowledge and Learning Network (CKLN) met recently at St. George's University to finalize arrangements for the initial location of their headquarters at the True Blue Campus.

Proposed National Accreditation Bill for Parliament Soon
The National Assembly is soon to deliberate on the proposed National Accreditation Bill which is intended to provide for the establishment of the National Accreditation Council.

 


GNBS Hosts Symposium On Regularising Construction Industry
National Bureau of Standards (GNBS), continuing work on proposals for legislating regulations in the construction industry through its National Building Code Committee, hosted a national symposium yesterday.

Dr. Omer Thomas is New Head of Regional Standards Body
Executive director of the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) Dr Omer Thomas is the new president of the Caricom Regional Organisation for Standards and Quality (CROSQ). He succeeds Dudley Rhynd, director of the Barbados National Standards Institution (BNSI).
